  • Resting and recovering from a most long and hectic day yesterday in a day trip to Cuetzalan and its nearby falls. It was a wonderful day which actually is the first one that earns a 9 since I started my morale-o-meter. I could not move a muscle this morning from so much biking, hiking, and walking yesterday.
  • Crackers with Brie, grapes, and wine.
  • Coming back from The Moon. I’m back in Cholula, facing reality, and meaning I must deal with stuff that I’ve been putting off.

2010.04.15

  • 43 subscribers!! Woohoo!!! Thank you, muah!!
  • I did a little gardening. As the weeks go by, it’s getting easier to do —since I’m dismantling it—, and it gets smaller and smaller. I keep harvesting some of the leftover veggies. Today I plucked a carrot.
  • I gave myself a mini-manicure so my nails and cuticles don’t get “out of hand” :P In a couple weeks, they’ll be in a decent shape to polish them.

  • The tranquil face of my dog resting after she unsuccessfully struggled to get out of her bath, but then succumbing to toweling and to the buzzing sound of the razor. She feels ready for the warmer weather :)
  • A couple hours of extra sleep —deserved after a hectic and restless couple of days.
  • My friend A called from the airport in Mexico City to thank me for the wonderful time he had here. He thanked me again for lending him a suitcase “without which he couldn’t have made it”. We talked for a little while and, at the end, he asked me if I was in better terms with my dad. I said no. He then asked me to thank my dad for him for lending us the car so we could go touring. I smiled and thanked him for his kind words, but he has no idea how that last thing he said touched me. The argument with my dad was over something very nasty he said about my friend. Without knowing it, my friend has proved to be the better person. He is such a good friend, and I’m thankful :)

March

My new and fulfilling activity in March was accompanying my aunt to her house in Veracruz. Even though the reason to go there was not a happy one —she wanted to check on her house because someone broke in and took the two TVs—, we managed to get over the incident the first night we got there and enjoyed the rest of our stay there. Well, I must say she was still a bit upset to learn that they had also taken her plates and cutlery; she was more upset about them than the old TVs. I can understand and relate to being robbed; there’s a certain uneasiness that lingers. But most of the stuff was still there.

It was delightful to be by the beach, and the weather was glorious and just a bit chilly at night. I took many photos, knitted, read, watched movies, lay in a hammock, walk with Uma on the sand, and just plain enjoy the sights, smells, sounds of the seaside. My biggest pleasure was watching Uma being over-delighted of running on the sand, and her wide smile of pure joy is my dearest memory :)
