How to read One Hundred Years of Solitude

"The best book I've read. Fascinating!"

How I did it: Step 1: I bought the book —along with "Amor en Los Tiempos de Cólera" (Love in the Time of Cholera), still pending to read...

Step 2: I read it in one week with no hurries
Step 3: I now have a huge grin on my face every time I remember it :)

Lessons & tips: If you have a good grasp of Spanish, I highly recommend reading it in its original language.

A good friend of mine tells me to follow this book with "Love in the Time of Cholera", which he personally thinks it's superior, if that can possibly be ;)

Resources: Word of mouth: Every person that has read this book has recommended it highly.

Childhood influence: This book was very popular and successful while I was a child (and still is).

García Márquez's reputation: He is internationally renown and has won a Nobel Prize, among many other recognitions. He has been translated to many languages.

Previous book I read: "Crónica de Una Muerte Anunciada" (Chronicle of a Death Foretold). This one actually didn't help. I read it by assignment in high school, and it left me more confused than pleased. Still I knew I wanted to read "One Hundred Years of Solitude", and now it has left me wanting more...

It took me 1 week.

It made me fly!
