How to knit a sweater for my brother

"I like to knit garments that will 'embrace' my loved ones."

How I did it: I knitted and knitted and knitted and knitted some more —this is not to fill up the 150-character minimum; this really took a lot of knitting! Moreover, a few times I had to unknit because I couldn't get the gauge or the pattern right.

Lessons & tips:

  • This kind of sweater is for a knitter of intermediate level and up.

  • Make sure you have enough skeins of the same lot. Men sweaters take up more skeins than everyone else. Better to have some extra for a hat or scarf than end up with lines that show a difference in hue.

Resources:

  1. Yarn

  2. 2 sets of knitting needles plus a set of 5 double-point needles for the neck

  3. A pattern —this particular one is a bit modified version from the one on the book by Michael del Vecchio "Knitting with Balls".

It took me 4 months.

It made me a loving sister
