As part of several events this week in my town, yesterday took place “The Dance of Quetzalcóatl” as a ritual to observe the equinox and welcome spring.
It was an interesting dance with beautiful costumes and fire burning around. The only unfortunate thing was the very poor lighting they had. It felt very much like a very-low-budget light & sound show that made no justice to the dancers who offered a good show. But you could barely see them; the fire behind was brighter. However, they ended the ritual all dancing with torches in hand and, with the spectacular venue with the pyramid (on the right of the photo with the fires) and the volcanoes in the background just after sunset, I was left quite motivated to let the spring begin!
